Script Tip: Transcription

I want to share a tip that I shared with one of my e-learning clients earlier this week. I think it might come in handy for you. If you're updating content and you have, let's say, audio or video content but you no longer have the scripts, I highly recommend using a transcription service. It's cheap, it's efficient, it's fast, and you'll get an actual working document that you can then work with.

I use rev.com. You can either get automatic transcriptions as low as $.10 a minute, transcriptions by a professional, an actual human being, for $1 a minute, and they have foreign language transcription services as well.

In all transparency, this is not a paid endorsement for rev.com or any transcription service, but I can tell you from personal experience and the experience of my clients, that using a good transcription service can save you a lot of time, effort, and heartache in the end.
